Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Astrovaani website and the Astro Guru Android app. Vaani is an AI astrology companion. You can chat with her, add birth details for a kundli, and place outgoing voice calls that use prepaid talk-time.

Information we collect

Your mobile number, used to sign you in with a one-time code sent through OTPless.
Profile details you choose to add, such as your name, language, and profile photo.
Birth details you choose to add: name, date, time, and place. These are optional. Chat and calls work without them. If you add them, we use them to calculate a kundli and to personalise replies.
Messages you send to Vaani, and Vaani’s replies, so the conversation can continue.
Voice-call audio while a call you start is connected, plus call length and remaining talk-time. The microphone is used only during that call.
Payment status for the chat subscription and for talk-time packs. Juspay processes the payment. We store the order result and mandate status. We do not store your UPI PIN, full card number, or CVV.
Device and usage data needed to run the service: app version, device type, language, crash and performance signals, and events such as sign-in, paywall views, and purchases.
A push token if you allow notifications on Android.

How we use it

To create your account and keep you signed in on the website and in the app.
To answer in chat and on voice calls, including chart context when you have added birth details.
To bill the subscription and talk-time packs, and to show your remaining balance.
To fix crashes, understand which features are used, and measure ads that led you here.
To meet legal duties and to prevent abuse of the service.

Cookies and similar tools

The website uses an httpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in during checkout and chat. When configured, the website and app may also use Firebase, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta, and Linkrunner to measure visits, installs, and purchases. You can control cookies in your browser and ad tracking in your device settings.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with processors that run the service: phone verification, cloud hosting, the voice-call provider, Juspay for payments, and the analytics tools named above. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if the service is transferred as part of a merger or sale.

How long we keep it

We keep account, chat, call, birth-detail, and billing records while your account is active and for as long as we need them for billing, safety, or legal duties. You can ask us to delete the personal data tied to your phone number.

Your choices

You can use chat and calls without adding birth details.
You can deny microphone access. A call will not connect until you allow it.
You can turn off notifications in Android settings.
You can ask to access, correct, or delete your data by emailing support@astrovaani.co.in. Account deletion steps are on the delete account page.

Children

Astrovaani is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
